Enrichment Games

What is it?

We offer a variety of Enrichment Games courses that borrow ideas from dog sports and natural dog behaviors to create games that can be played indoors and out to enrich your and your dog’s lives.  Play facilitates learning; the more you implement games into your regular routine and training, the more your dog will retain what you want them to learn. Is counter-surfing driving you crazy?  Adding more foraging activities into your dog’s day can help prevent annoying behaviors like counter-surfing.

Brainy Day Games

If your dog’s daily exercise routine is often thwarted by rainy weather or hot summer days, the Brainy Day class will provide many solutions to tire your dog out.  Work long days?  Don’t worry; these activities are designed to be played in a quick 15 minutes or can be combined for up to an hour and work your dog both mentally and physically.  While no specific skills are required having a good sit, down, and wait/stay cue can help. Things we will cover in class:

  • Target training
  • Trick training (middle, leg weaves, spin, and more!)
  • Food Search games
  • Reading (Yes, you can teach your dog to read!)

*This class is not appropriate for dogs that bark, growl or lunge at people or other dogs.

Field Day Games

These are single-session classes that take place in an outdoor environment. We will demonstrate different ways that you can exercise your dog mentally and physically with limited outdoor space and even while remaining leashed. Things we will be covering in this class:

  • Foraging
  • Tracking
  • Obstacles

*This class is not appropriate for dogs that bark, growl or lunge at people or other dogs.
